Veedon Fleece’s 2009 collection of new designs are currently being woven.

The designs to be exhibited for the first time at Decorex this year will be:

CANTON
woven in silk

a rich silk carpet woven in imperial yellow, leaning towards decadent gold with vermillion butterflies, peonies and a whimsical bunch of grapes.

This design was inspired by an antique Chinese robe which lies within the company’s archive.

BYZANTIUM
woven in veedon

A design inspired by the rich frescoes adorning the walls of the St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow.

JACOBITE
woven in silk

Derived from one of the most delicate antique floral silk chintz that we have ever come across. This scales beautifully to our medium. It’s light and joyous palate will lift any room, whilst giving a confident air of accomplished sophistication.

SAFAVID

An impressive aesthetic damask executed in pale sand on an ivory field almost forms a natural lattice containing love hearts and lotus flowers. The design was inspired by an antique textile held in our archive.

PEONY

This year’s opulent design by Sabina Fay Braxton is
coloured in rich classical gold and watery ice blue.

We will also be exhibiting our highly acclaimed classical Damask coloured in sand and South Sea Island blue.

Photographs of the carpets in the weaving process are available and we can supply images of original artwork in some cases.

We do not expect to have full professional photographs of the entire collection until August, which we appreciate may be too late for pre show press publications. This is due to the company’s success in having a full order book and putting commission work ahead of our own designs.

Safavid, Peony and Damask are all available for loan purposes. We will also have images on cd by the end of June.

It is important to understand that Veedon Fleece is a custom weaving house which produces couture or bespoke commissioned designs for interiors worldwide.

Seldom are two of any design produced, although in some cases skilful re-rendering of our archive collection is a great aid to the interior designers and architects who commission our work.

Veedon Fleece produce extremely high quality, hand knotted carpets to commission in many different sizes, colours and designs; skilfully weaving in muga, pashmina, silk, the opulent veedon and best Tibetan wool.
